Just a little knowledge is dangerous

Today we are seeing an ever increasing need for wearing more than one hat, but with this comes different sets of challenges.
What we are seeing is that nobody longer are capable of doing their jobs properly as the demand for diversified skills keep growing.

The end-goal of this is that you get a slightly rotten potato that wont fit in with anything and the potato has the ability to corrupt much more than it can be used for.

The trend we see now will only lead to burnout and mediocre solutions and fixes.

What can be witnessed now is the shift over to even more roles being lumped in together in a mish-mash that will never lead to anything fruitful.
Just look at DevOps, you either get someone who is good at Development, or someone who is good at Operations.
And when you thought that the industry had some sense left... We are gifted DevSecOps... Where nobody develops any security aligned operations.

This is all at the tail end of what google crowned SRE which is the middle ground between Development and Operations.
To me, all of this is a bunch of people who knows just enough to be very dangerous and not enough to fully understand why they are very dangerous.
"The danger lies in where it is thought that you have mastered something, while in fact, you are stuck with something that is in its infancy in terms of knowledge."

What we are seeing as a trend today is that we are continuing to make things even more complicated rather than shedding bloat and complex code that has no right to exist. In many cases complex code was done to solve a specific problem instead of reworking the base to be cleaner and simpler.
